Lincolnshire Mini Club
Santa Visit to
St. Francis Special School
Monday 15th December 2008

Lincolnshire MINI Club Members took a short run to the wonderful people of St. Francis Special School in Lincoln.
In our convoy of Mini's there were some very special visitors who went to see our "Special Friends"
at St Francis Special School. They were;
SANTA CLAUSE
MINI Mouse
Buzz Lightyear
Amy The Penguin
-and-
Brian The Elf
Arriving at the School, Santa stood proud through the sunroof of "Money Penny's" R56 Mini Cooper S and
commanded his reindeers, er.... MINI's, to do three laps of the oval car parking area where he waved to the youths of St Francis
Special School and the children in the surrounding properties.
Now Santa did have a little bit of a problem getting back out of the sunroof and through the passenger door.
All those mince pies are not good for him. Ho Ho Hoooo!
When all of the Mini's had parked up, Santa was joined by his fellow visitors "MINI Mouse" and a surprise
visit by "Brian The Elf", "Buzz Lightyear" and "Amy The Penguin". "Brian The Elf" was particularly proud of his yellow
tights. All sounds a bit dodgy to me, er... I mean, it all sounds very nice. Yes Brian, we all did like you in your yellow tights.
No... we did, really we did.
Anyway, moving on, the youths greeted Santa, MINI Mouse, Santa's Lincolnshire MINI Club Helpers, Buzz Lightyear,
Amy The Penguin, oh and yes.... "Brian The Elf" still in his yellow tights, by singing Christmas Songs to us all which
Santa really enjoyed and sang along to.

It was a chilly night, especially for "Brian The Elf" in his yellow tights, so after a quick inspection of
the MINI's by the youths, Santa, MINI Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Amy The Penguin, Lincolnshire MINI Club Helpers and of course
"Brian The Elf", retired into the warmth of the school for a cup of tea or coffee and some mince pies. Yum yum.
After a while, Santa, who was helped by MINI Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Amy the Penguin and yes... "Brian
The Elf", still in yellow tights, handed out large fluffy dogs and bears to most of the girls and remote controlled
MINI's to the boys and some of the girls, who were quick to go to the gymnasium to practice their driving skills.
Actually, their driving skills were rubbish. Santa was run over by so many MINI's, he didn't know what
to do with his feet - lol. It sort of reminded me of how "Brian The Elf" drives. Did I mention his yellow tights?
Money Penny then called Santa over to her and said that one of the young girls, Lauren, had a "special
request". Lauren asked Santa if he would give her a hug and of course Santa being the very kind man that he is, willingly
said yes. Then Lauren, quite disgustedly, told Santa a secret.
Now because this is a secret, you must promise never to tell anyone else ever. Shhhhhh...... *Whispers* -
Lauren told Santa, *looks around to see if anybody is listening*, that their are men, particularly in shopping centres
who are pretending to be Santa! "No!?" - Santa said. YES!!! She replied. "But don't worry Santa", she continued,
"I will sort them out for you if ever I see them again".
Of course, who am I to take away Laurens pleasure of beating up all of the other Santa's she now see's.
This is not a joke. The Head Mistress of the school did say that Lauren knew I am the real Santa, and of course
I am, and that Lauren loves me. Well who am I to argue?
Needless to say, for obvious reasons we are not allowed to show unedited pictures of the youths at St.Francis
Special School, but I know that you all cannot wait to see more of "Brian The Elf".

We can arrange for "Brian The Elf" to be available to hire at very reasonable rates. He is easily satisfied
as can be seen by the pictures. To hire "Brian The Elf", call Santa's Grotto, North Pole. Find us on Yell.com.

Cruzin to see "The Pirate"
On Saturday 29th November 2008 a number of Lincolnshire Mini Club members met in Newark to cruise down to
see MINI Pirate aka Phil Craddock.
Phil showed members around his studio highlighting what each machine did and computer graphics. Using Club
Founder and Chairman Matt Taylor's Mini Cooper S as a guinea pig, Phil changed the belt line from the usual silver to
red, blacked up the silver around the headlights and changed the fuel filler cap from Silver to Black to give a stunning "Stealth"
like appearance to MiNTS Black Cooper S. Complimented with black 18 inch rims with a red line the effect was fantastic. Phil
also displayed examples of his work and LMC members soon snapped up a Christmas bargain.
To cap off the visit MINI Miss Giggle aka Laura baked a cake for everyone to enjoy, even though work commitments
meant that she could be there. In addition, the ever reliable - MINI ClubMUM, "Money Penny" aka Lorraine, took drinks and
goodies for everyone, all paid for from her own pocket.
To summerise, we all had a great day, with some great company and some great bargains.

Sunday 12th October 2008
Burghley House and Park
and
Sunday Lunch at
Royal Oak Pub/Hotel
Cycloboy organised a Club Run to Burghley House, Stamford plus, a Two Course Sunday Lunch at the Royal
Oak Pub/Hotel in Duddington Afterwards.
Starting at our first meeting point of Listers MINI of Boston Dealership, Cycloboy took us through some very
interesting and attractive Lincolnshire Villages and included one stop for "Little Miss Giggle" to take a picture of a Post
Box - Don't ask!
Arriving at Burghley House, Lincolnshire Mini Club followed signs to our very own designated parking field
right in front of the house. I am not sure which looked better. The stunning view of the house from where the MINI's were
parked or, the fantastic view of the MINI's from the house, all lined up ready for that 'perfect picture' photo shoot.
It was great to see other members who arranged to meet us directly at the "House" and thanks to Cooperman,
Mrs Cooperman, Andy-b, Gary Sanderson and Wife, Lynkslad and daughter, also Lynkslads Brother and Partner for meeting
us there. Also enjoying the day were Debbie Pollard, Tony and "Diddy Jen", Cyloboy and Julian, Brian Clifton, Promoter, Money
Penny, Little Miss Giggle, Batman and Robin.
IT'S TRUE! LMC really do have Batman and Robin as members. Lincolnshire Mini Club's real life Super
Heroes, the one and only Adam West, Yes! His name really is Adam West, is our very own Batman and his Dad, who came along
also, really is named Rob-in. Dadadadadadadada... BATMAN...................!!!!!!!!! (Check the tune, there really are enough
"dada's" there).
Burghley House agreed to charge just £15.00 per MINI, including all persons, for entrance
into the house, including the gardens and sculpture park.
On first arrival, all were agreed that the rooms monogramed after the famous Frenchman "Walter Closert"
were a must and should be our first port of call. Looking at a pair of monogramed doors, embarrassingly I asked who was "Walter
Closert" and what is he famous for? "Walter Closert?" came the questionable reply, looking at me strangley. "Yes", I replied
with a questionable tone, "oh.... you mean "Water Closet", the Currator contined... "That's easy to explain, he is famous
for a good old P**S UP and known to his friends as BOG!" This bit of the story isn't at all true, but I thought it might make
you giggle a little.
The next urgent port of call was the Coffee Shop, but, as this was Burghley House it had been suitably named
the "Resturant". Brian Clifton soon found out why when he purchased a pack of sandwiches at the cost of a main course meal
at your local pub. But he did enjoy them, he savoured every bite. lol

St Francis Special School
Visit by LMC
Monday 22nd September 2008
We are priviledged at Lincolnshire Mini Club. Priviledged that most of us have our own Mini, either current
BMW of Classic, and priviledged that we are all reasonably healthy.
In addition, Lincolnshire Mini Club is priviledged to have such generous and caring members.
On Monday 22nd September 2008, a number of LMC Members visited the young people of St. Francis Special School.
They were wonderful and had a great time, and to be honest, so did all the LMC members who went along with their Mini. We
all arrived lights flashing and horns blowing.
We all laughed and the youths thoroughly had a good time. Some got into Money Penny's R56 Mini Cooper S and
were exstatic that they could rev the engine, flash the lights, hoot the horn and put the iPod on full blast. I will never
listen to Leona Lewis singing 'Bleeding Love' again without thinking of the two girls who sat singing their hearts out.
Then it all got mad, Promoter decided with our two singing Leona Lewis wannabee's to go to the other side
of the car park and start spinning the Cooper S in a circle. Tyres squeeling - he girls loved it, and Promoter felt sick.
This then started 'Little Miss Giggle' off with some other youngsters, closely followed by 'Batman' aka Adam West in his Classic
putting a spin on things. Boy did we all laugh. After about an hour, we all went inside for a warming cup of tea or coffee
and just a few biscuits.
The youngers gave LMC a HUGE CHEER and LMC reciprocated with a HUGE CHEER in reply, promising to visit again
soon. The evening was nicely rounded off with a visit to the pub and a meal.

National MINI Day
Sunday 14th September 2008
Our friends at DMR invited Lincolnshire Mini Club to share their display area at the National Mini Day and
of course LMC Members rose to the challange.
The 'LMC Team', would like to thank Jason and Graham at DMR for their kind invitation, which apart from a
few underhand antics from the minority of 'Classic' Mini owners, the day was a great success.

'Phoenix' said.... "Good evening all, was nice to bump into a few of you today. Great show and a
good turnout. Saw a few nice MINI's northbound on the M1 as well".
"I have to say that was a great day. Fantastic weather yet again, great company, a good laugh and
some nice Minis to get ideas from", commented 'Merlin'.
'Matty' said.... "Great day & nice weather. Thanks Merlin for inviting
us to share the stand".
'Ryan Shelton' said... "Good day out and the weather was
great! Nice to see you all again. See you in 2 weeks time".
'Denyer' continued.... "It was a
really good day its a shame it started off bad, it was good to catch up with everyone again".
"Hi All , Thanks
for a great day, the LMC really are a fantastic team to be around. Superb PROMO car. That said, apart from a few issues with
the first stand we had which was soon sorted. Well done whoever did that. We all had some great laughs and fun,
and really thats what having a MINI is all about , thanks again to you all. Cheers"... 'Jet'.

MINI Plant Visit - Oxford
Saturday 6th September 2008

20 Members of Lincolnshire MINI Club visited the Oxford MINI Plant and spent around 3 hours learning all about the build
process of this beloved mark.
Just to prove the point, the wiring harnesses come from Romania and MINI have an in-house Romanian Technician to offer
help and support to line workers.
Today, (06/09/2008), 53 MINI's were made every hour. On a Saturday workers have a standard 11 hour shift.
Did you know that from start to rolling the car off the line complete takes just 24 hours.
All members seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves and this extended to the meal afterwards which was arranged by Matty.
Three courses for £9.99 was a bargain.

Saturday 5th July and Sunday 6th July 2008
2008 RAF Waddington
International Air Show
The weekends weather was 'patchy' to say the least. Saturday morning brought with it 'buckets
of rain' and the 'Club Gazebo' became a glorified umberella and a way to get to know each other very quickly.
Phil Weedon - Ex-Editor, now Publisher of 'modern
MINI' magazine joined Lincolnshire Mini Club for the event and even
Phil decided that the 'modern MINI' magazine stand would not stand the brute force of the rain and winds.
By lunchtime it all changed, the sun came out and shone for the rest of the day. As always
our MINI's are the star of any attraction and the LMC display attracted people of all ages to have a look around. Lincolnshire
MINI Club had the largest display of any single motor vehicle brand at the show.
I am pleased to say that through this activity LMC have a number of new members
already and their details can be found on the forum.
Look out for more on his event in 'modern
MINI' magazine.

|
| This was just half of our 'Display Team'. |

|
| The other half of the LMC display. |
17 Mini's on Saturday, 21 Mini's on Sunday - Overall, a total of 31 different Mini's were displayed over
the 2 days.

Sunday 30th August 2009
The 2nd Annual Lincolnshire Mini Club
Picnic In The Park

Lincolnshire Mini Club's
'Picnic In The Park' which will once again be held at Clumber Park, near Worksop, Nottinghamshire is on Sunday 30th August
2009.
After the success of our 2008 "Picnic In The Park" we have decided to make this an annual
event in the Lincolnshire MINI Club calendar, which will always be AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY EVERY YEAR.
Rather than telling you more about our 2008 "Picnic In The Park", we will let those who attended the event
give their opinion......
Luke said..... "Must say I had a cracking day today, the weather was spot on, Serbys
footy skills were at his usual standards (high of course:P) and the party rings were ace!! Really good turnout as well, good
to see so many MINI's there and alot of new recruits, shame modern MINI werent there to yet again prove that Apathy isn't
taking over the MINI scene just yet!!"
Serby said..... "I had a fantastic time today, despite the fact we turned up relatively
late to the party. It was awesome to catch up with everyone, especially those that I hadn't seen for a while."
Money Penny commented..... "I would just like to thank everyone
who came to Picnic In The Park today, was such a great turn out and nice to see lots of new faces from Nottinghamshire Mini
Club and DMR".
Deano said..... "A good day out". "On behalf
of the members of Nottinghamshire MINI Club I'd like to thank Matt (MINT) and Nick (Promoter) for organising such a good day
out. Hopefully the start of many events we can come together on."
Joe H said.... "Had a
good day, nice to see a few from DMR that I had spoken too at 'Mini In The Park' and also the Lincolnshire Mini
Club (LMC). Thanks for today, all seemed well organised (I was the one in the orange shirt btw) and my mate in his dark silver
'S'. We are both hopefully be coming to a few more of these and definatley the visit to the Oxford MINI Plant
tour arranged by LMC".
Maxiboy61 said..... "Thanks for this event, we really enjoyed it. This was the first time Lisa had taken her car to a meet and even
though she doesn't understand why grown men and women want to come to a field and talk about cars I think she enjoyed herself.
If nothing else she picked some lovely blackberries from a bush. Thanks to Nick for making us feel welcome and even more thanks
to 'Mum', (Money Penny), for giving me the pain killers. I feel fine this morning. Cheers again. Will see you all soon,
Rich, Lisa and Max".
Linky649
said.... "Thank you Money Penny. I wasn't expecting to be fed too. I would have brought some food too
but I only decided that morning that I was actually going and my cupboards and fridge was empty. lol. I guess it is right
that MINI drivers are the nicest drivers around. (Official but forgot how they found it out).
Cooperman
said..... "Just joined the club a few days before the meet in Clumber Park and I am pleased I did. Had
a great time meeting the members and looking at all the cars and mods. Pleased the weather held out and look forward to meeting
up with you at Burghley House. Brilliant website, and have uploaded a couple of pics, not really sure if it has worked!!"
Cooperman (Adrian)
At our 2008 "Picnic In The Park" a
total 34 Mini's turned up for the event and around 73 people. 29 Mini's were from Lincolnshire Mini Club, Doncaster Mini
Register and Nottinghamshire Mini Club, with 5 Mini's with their owners coming to visit us having read about the event on
the internet or in Modern Mini magazine.
Picnic In The Park is an invitation
to ALL MINI CLUBS and ALL MINI OWNERS to join us for a fun filled enjoyable day, or maybe you just want to relax
with other MINI Enthusiasts. Whatever you desire, this is the day out to suit all.
